REGISTRATION

1. When is the registration date?

The registration dates are from 9:00 am 3 April 2021 until 3:00pm 30 September 2021 (4th run)

3. Who can register and participate?

Everyone can take part! The KVM2021 virtual run is open to everyone from Malaysia. You can be an experienced runner or just getting started. Please ensure you meet the age requirement as outlined below (age as at 22 May 2021):

4. What is the registration fee?

RM30 for all the categories.

 

5. Can I register for more than one distance?

One registration for all the distances, meaning you may run any distance between 10km to 42.2km.  The above categories are for your reference and guideline only.

6. What does my registration include?

Your registration includes e-bib, e-certificate, e-medal, finisher t-shirt* or equivalent and etc if any.  Stay tuned.  More to come.

NOTE:

Finisher T-shirt is ONLY for runners who completed either a half marathon or full marathon distance (ie. 21.1km or 42.2km) in a single run once.

7. Will I receive a race bib?

Yes, you will receive a virtual bib (e-bib) with your name on it and custom text of not more than 15 characters. You are welcome to download your e-bib and print and wear it when completing your run.

8. Will I receive a medal?

Yes, you will receive a virtual medal (e-medal ) with your name on it .

9. How do I know if my registration has been successful?

Upon completion of registration, you will receive an email and we will email with an e-bib number to you 1 week before the event date.

10. I have registered but did not receive my confirmation email. What should I do?

If you did not receive your confirmation email, please check your spam, junk, promotions and social folders, or any other tabs in your inbox. If it is not there, please drop an email to support@teamrbkuching.com with your full name, email address and phone no. used for registration.

11. Why not showing the finisher t-shirt etc design?

In order to encourage more engagement between runners and hence, we want to come up with a runner-based finisher t-shirt etc. Therefore, we have decided to run a finisher t-shirt etc contest soon. This contest shall be open for KVM2021 registrants only.

1. What and when is the KVM 2021?

The KVM 2021 is a series of virtual events where you can complete your run, any distances between (10km to 42.2km) anytime and anywhere between the following date & time in a one attempt (single-run):

Round 1: 22nd May 2021 12:01am to 30th May 2021 11:59pm

The virtual run allows you to set your own goal and celebrate the accomplishment of crossing your own finish line.

You will need to track your run through a GPS-based app or watch.

The virtual run offers you an opportunity to participate in a racing experience within your own community. Run on your favourite route or look for the fastest loop in your area. Please ensure that you are following the government SOP for COVID-19 when choosing your run location.

2. What is the difference between our virtual marathon and other virtual marathons?

Our virtual marathon only needs to be registered once, and there are 5 virtual marathons to run, and there are different rounds so that you can choose the distance to run in a more relaxed manner.

You can take a 10km in the round 1  and try to do your 10km PB,

Then in the round 2, run a half marathon and try to do your HM PB,

In the round 3, you can do a half marathon + 10km run with a low heart rate run.

In the round 4, run a half marathon in a more relaxed manner.

In the final round, run a full marathon in an all-out manner to get a good result, regardless of the heart rate, just focus on the pace to be a full marathon PB, and free and easy until the end of the year 2021.

 

3. Is there a designated route for the run?

No, there is no designated route for the run. You can choose your own route and location. We encourage you to choose a route that is safe and has strong GPS signals. Please follow government SOP for COVID-19.

However, Team RB shall share their route of running on Facebook and/or their official website.  Stay Tuned.

 

4. Is there a cut-off time to complete my run?

There is no cut-off time for each category. However, you are required to complete the full distance continuously in one attempt and submit your record by the following date & time:

Round 1: 22nd May 2021 12:01am to 30th May 2021 11:59pm

5. How do I complete the run and submit my record?

Once you have completed your run

Screenshot your running result either from your phone or watch, please rest ensure the start running date & time are clearly showing on the screen.

Click the following link to submit your result with one week after the last date of each round of running.

Failure to submit the result on time may result in automatic disqualification. 

Liar is not welcome here, so the results will be published on the Internet, if we suspect your results or someone reports, we will ask you to upload your heart rate, cadence and split to prove your result.

6. Can I walk to complete the distance?

Yes, you can run or walk anywhere incl on a treadmill.  However, it is not easy to walk for either 21.1km or 42.2km of distance.

7. Can I accumulate my race distance over multiple runs instead of completing my run in one attempt?

No, you will need to complete your distance in one attempt. Multiple submissions to complete your distance is not allowed. Note that you only get one entry for the leaderboard.

8. Once I have completed the distance, will I be able to re-do this run?

You may re-do your run until you satisfy your result.  However, you are not allowed to submit your result more than one for each round.

9. Will there be awards for the winners? Eg. top 3 runners for each categories?

No, there will be no awards. All results shall be published at the leaderboard on the Team RB and KVM2021 official Facebook Group and web pages.

 

10. What safety measures should I be aware of?

Your safety, and the safety of our community, is our number one priority.
Practice good hygiene and safe physical distancing as required by your country, state or local government area.
Follow government SOP for COVID-19.
Be sure to observe traffic safety laws when completing your run.
If running at night, rest ensure night essential items.
Hydration at all times.
Running at your own risk.

12. Will I get a finisher T-shirt If I only run 10km or less than 21.1km?

No, a finisher T-shirt shall be given to the runners who completed at least a Half or Full marathon only.  However, you will get other entitlement if any.  Hence, please train a little bit harder, run at least one-Half marathon of distance, ie. 21.1km.

There is no minimum run such as you must run a 10km, 21.1km or 42.2km each round.

13. What if I have completed a HM and a FM, will I get a 2 finisher T-shirt?

No, you have to choose one, ie. either a HM or a FM finisher T-shirt.  However, you are allowed to buy another one for RM30.  click the following link.

15. If says I just want the HM finisher tee, must I run 5 rounds of HM?

In 5 rounds, you only need to complete a half marathon in a single run to get the HM finisher tee.

17. When will I get my Finisher Tee?

For Kuching Runners: The Finisher Tee should be ready for collection at end of November 2021.

For Outstation Runners: The Finisher Tee should reached you at the beginning of December 2021. 

*provided you have paid for the postage

*If everything as planned and please wait patiently

We shall notify all of you via Email once we received the Finisher Tee.

 

15. I am a beginner, what would be your advice in terms of running distances?

I presumed you have run at least 5km and feel free to contact us.  A Low Heart Rate master is ever ready to advise you on how to run your first 10km

Round 1: target to run a 10km

Round 2: target to complete between 12 – 15km

Round 3: target to complete between 15 – 18km

Round 4: target to complete between 18 – 21km

Round 5: race for 21.1km

*do not run a full marathon of distance in your first year of long-distance running.

16. What is a KVM Super Series 2021?

This is a special program for KVM2021 registrants to record their monthly mileage in km the result shall be updated and published once a monthly
PURPOSE:
> Serves as a training and mileage recording system for your team.
> Encourage runner running more regularly and systematically.
> Create healthy competition amongst the running community.
